Yesterday, Sirous Baghchehsaraie joined Peter Neff as the only players to win multiple Remington trophies here at the 2018 LAPC. A mixed game specialist, Baghchehsaraie took down the $350 No-Limit Omaha 8 or Better event, winning over $5,000.
After his win, Baghchehsaraie told us, “I’m in a zone right now I’ve been playing good for a lot of years and luck factor was a bit against me. Now it’s coming back. I’m getting lucky a bit. It feels great.”
Baghchehsaraie has been a regular at the Commerce Casino for years now, but he has not enjoyed success like this in such a short period of time. While two wins puts Baghchehsaraie in contention for the player of the series, he laughed when he was brought up, saying he didn’t think he had much of a chance.
“I’m going to come back and try more but my work is underway now. Hopefully I can make it out for a few more and keep this going. I can’t catch some of these guys they are playing every event, and I can’t do that, but if it’s close I’ll go for it. If not, oh well.”
Baghchehsaraie repeated from earlier that his confidence is higher than it’s been at years, and he hopes the trend continues for the rest of the series.
“Winning tournaments, it brings your confidence up. It’s good for your soul. You don’t look down again. When you are getting beats you are down. It takes alot from you. You aren’t enjoying it. But when you are winning, everything is great.”
Stay tuned to our coverage to see if Baghchehsaraie can join Neff in the winner’s circle for a third time this series!
