For the first time since yesterday afternoon, Dennis Blieden is not the chip leader. That mark now belongs to none other than former 2015 LAPC Champion Anthony Zinno, who just doubled up through Blieden. Zinno got his final chips in preflop holding Ace-Queen, and was racing against the pocket eights of Blieden. A queen came right on the flop, and Zinno scored the double up to nearly two million.
It bears repeating that Zinno can make history in multiple ways were he to go on and win this event. Not only would he be the first player to win the same WPT twice, but he would also be the first player to capture four WPT titles.
Stay tuned to find out if Zinno can make it to the big stage one more time here at the Commerce!
