If you’ve played any Mixed Game Events here at the Commerce Casino in the last decade, chances are you’ve probably shared the table at some point with Carol Fuchs. The tournament and cash game veteran is one of the most familiar faces in LA, and today, she added another win to her impressive resume with a victory in the $570 Omaha 8 Event today.
“I feel fantastic,” a beaming Fuchs told us after her win.
This is Fuchs's favorite series of the year outside of the WSOP, because as he told us, she loves every poker game...except one.
“I love all of the games except No-Limit Hold’em. Matt (Savage) has put together such an amazing schedule with what over 25 Mixed Game Events. It’s like an orgy of mixed games.”
This was Fuchs’s second top three finish of the series, having already placed third in the $350 OE Event last week. For Fuchs, she might make a serious run at the Player of the Series race, especially given the changes made to the format this year.
“Yeah I guess I have to keep entering to go after the Mixed Games POYS. It was really smart for you guys to separate Mixed Games, Overall, and No-Limit Hold’em. It gets people excited about playing more events, it makes for bigger fields. It’s great.”
There was little time for Fuchs to rest after her victory, as the $570 Stud Event was going on as she won, and the Big O event was starting shortly after.
“I think I’ll hop into the stud I will look what the blinds are at. You don’t get to play Stud as a tournament unless it’s at the World Series so I’m glad Matt put that in.”
Speaking of Matt Savage, Fuchs posted on Facebook earlier in the week that he was the hottest guy in poker after he came to her defense following an incident during the $350 HORSE Event. Fuchs was happy to heap praise on our Tournament Director after her victory.
“Matt is the hottest he takes such good care of us. This whole thing you should be about my big love for Matt.”
